Project Runway Season 6

Congrats to the winner of Project Runway Season 6 , Irina Shabeyeva and all the other designers! Irina's collection was really impressive but for me too cold. Sorry Irina, but I'm a color junkie :) I had a much better time watching Carol Hannah's collection. Although the judges said it was missing a connecting thread, I thought it had the most creative and eye catching silhouettes. Posted above are some of her designs.

Purrcasso Art & Craft Gala

Josh and I are participating in Purrcasso again this year! Purrcasso is an art and craft auction and gala that benefits the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society in Berkeley, CA. We went with something much simpler than last year due to time constraints, but recently found out the deadline had been extended! Sooo... we'll probably do another piece :) If you'd like to donate or submit a piece, check out the link above! Great chance to have your work hang among some of the greats in the industry :) yay for cute kitties and pudgy puppies!!

Here is our first submission. We made a set of sister images using cut watercolor paper, acrylics, needle felt and color-aid paper. They also have matching frames :)

Paris Fashion Week

I dunno about you, but I am a lil obsessed with fashion, even tho I wear nothing but t-shirts and jeans and honestly haven't worn a pair of heels in 6 months. This is a doodle I did of a piece by Dany Atrache. Have u seen his gowns?! Killer.

P.A.W.S

This past weekend I was lucky enough to get a walking tour through the PAWS (Performing Animal Welfare Society) elephant and tiger sanctuary in San Andreas, CA. The sanctuary is home to 9 asian and african elephants and over 20 tigers, all were resuced from terrible living conditions in either zoos, circuses, or from private owners. The place was breathtaking beautiful and the people there were truly masters of their craft. It was an amazing experience! I could have fed those elephants all day long :) and I don't think they would have minded a bit :) If you would like to donate please go to their website!

If you haven't already seen Up in 3D, I highly recommend it!! Actually, I insist! GO NOW!
This movie is definitely one of my favorites for this year. The story is really solid, the characters, charming, and visually, well we don't even have to go there.. haha :P
I can't wait to see it again, but in the mean time take a look at Lou Romano's development work on his blog. Glory be to Lou! seriously.

This past weekend was Gwynne and Matt's wedding in Wilmette, IL. It was the most fun I've had in a long time and I didn't realize until then how much I really missed my friends. New Apt!

Josh and I finally moved into a new place and are loving it! (especially the decorating :)) No more studio apts for me! I'm spoiled now with all these rooms. haha. Check out this retro wall clock I just bought on ebay. A lil cleaning up and its going to look smashing in the dining area.
