Happy Leap Year

In Britain and Ireland, it is a tradition that women may propose marriage only on leap years.
Supposedly, a 1288 law by Queen Margaret of Scotland (then age five and living in Norway), required that fines be levied if a marriage proposal was refused by the man; compensation ranged from a kiss to £1 to a silk gown.

FELIZ NAVIDAD

It's finally happening! Josh and I are going to Puerto Rico for Christmas!
This will be my first time on the island and I am stoked. We already booked a rental home on HomeAway.com and the BEST part is my parents have decided to join us! This will be their first tropical vacation and I can't wait to share it with them :) They deserve some sun n surf more than anyone.
*Sigh* can I fast forward to December? :)

Happy Belated Holidays!

Happy Belated Christmas and New Year to everyone! Man, what happened to that week of lovelyness? Went by wayyyy to fast. Let's see... updates :
Josh and I stayed in Cali this Christmas, first time away from family and it was bitter sweet for sure. We spent the week eating and drinking and just being excellent company to each other. Had a great new years eve at our friend Sucheta's house which included a rousing game of both Uno and Yahtzee :)
Our honeymoon to Maui is officially booked and I CAN'T WAIT! That is all. Back to work.

Vacation, I Can Almost Taste You

I can't wait for our week off to start. I'm going to have snuggle time with the babies every day. This is how they snuggle :) and by snuggle I mean wrestle.

Happy 32nd Birthday Hubby!

This past weekend I surprised Josh with a trip up to Napa! We stayed in Yountville. Can we say Thomas Keller paradise? yes, we can :) We rented bikes and went wine tasting/biking through the Stag's Leap District. The best thing was the bikes were electric, so you didn't have to pedal if you got tired!.. or in our case, lazy. :) We also had dinner at one of our fav restaurants Ad Hoc. What a great trip! Thank you napa valley, we will return soon! :)

New Hobby : Needle Felting

About a year ago I discovered this awesome art called Felting or Needle Felting. You have these special needles that are covered in little barbs and then you take loose wool roving and stab it with the needle, the barbs pull the tiny threads together and eventually build your felt into whatever shape you want! Its like sculpting but with fabric! Here is my latest piece I did. It was the cake topper for our wedding <3
I think all you Ghibli fans might recognize the inspiration :)
I also did a much larger piece for last years Lighting Dept art show. I'll be sure to get a picture up of that soon :)

Honeybadgers win and don't give a Sh*t

Looks like the honey badgers won the Lighting dept costume contest! 50 bucks! Although it also looks like they don't give a sh*t :) Happy Halloween!!!

Puss in Boots

Josh and I got to see a Friends and Family screening of Puss in Boots on Saturday. It was quite funny and looked fantastic. I recommend everyone go see it when it comes out! Also, I got a credit!! Yippee!!

Pulse Check

yepp still alive. Sorry for the lack of posts! Man I totally abandoned this blog.
Time to dive back in. Past few month have been super busy. Planning the wedding, working
on a really fun project at work, and just living life. Let me see... I recently started reading this new book: The Lost City of Z
It was recommended by someone at work, and I'm so very glad it came up amongst the inappropriate garble that are our lunch table conversations. If you like adventure, gruesome details and TRUE STORIES, I highly recommend it :)

He Liked It So Much He Put A Ring On It

That's right!!! Josh and I got engaged this past Saturday!! It was ridiculously corny and completely romantic :) As you can see the ring is a touch too small at the moment but It is beautiful and I love everything about it :) I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!!!! squeal!!!

Take Me There

So I'm always up for a stay-cation, snuggled up on my couch with a book... or the tv remote :) But I have to say I might just have to leave my humble abode for this place. No, rephrase, I would leave my humble abode in the dust for this place. The newly remodeled La Banane Hotel in St. Barts looks like something out of my dreams. Nestled in a coconut grove, the nine bungalows are furnished with vintage furniture built by Pierre Jeanneret (cousin of Le Corbusier) back in the fifties. The address is also completely confidential and revealed ONLY to the guests. Reason number 42 why I need to win the lottery.

J&J Wedding

Memorial Day weekend was one of the best weekends ever. Josh and I flew to PA to see my cousin Jenny get married. She has been by my side almost my entire life and therefore I consider her more of a sister than a cousin. The wedding was at a rustic estate, everything was designed by the bride and groom, and my god, it was all beautiful! I got to spend a lot of time with friends and family and I loved every glorious second of it :)
